Our linemen have worked extremely hard to successfully restore power to our members during the recent storms in a timely manner. However, due to the wet conditions and road closings our pending construction jobs and daily service calls have been delayed. We want to remind members to please be safe during the inclement weather and we ask for your patience during this time as we are trying to complete every job that we possibly can.

Houston County EC selects 2015 Youth Tour Participants

Houston County Electric partners with Texas Electric Cooperatives and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association to send two deserving high school students on the Government-in-Action Youth Tour to Washington D.C.

We are proud to announce that next month, Karson Patton of Latexo and Rebecca Moore of Crockett will join 1,500 other students from co-ops across the nation to see our government in action!

HCEC’s board members and staff would like to congratulate Ms. Patton and Ms. Moore on their achievements and we would like to wish them good luck at the Nation’s Capitol!

Each year, HCEC sends two local students to Washington DC to participate in the annual Youth Tour.  During Youth Tour, students tour Washington DC, visit with national leaders, and gain first-hand knowledge of how our government is run and it’s interaction with electric cooperatives. Participants are eligible to try to earn the position of Texas representative at YLC during the tour. The 2014 Texas Representative at YLC was our very own, Ms. Michaela Gardner!  Ms. Gardner was hand-picked to be the only representative from the state of Texas.  The board members and staff here at HCEC are extremely proud of Ms. Gardner and all of her accomplishments!
